Dany Raad, MD • Education Committee Chair
Almost 100 colleagues from around the state gathered on Sept. 14 at the Renaissance Hotel Westerville Polaris for the OGS Annual Meeting. It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with old friends and build new professional relationships. In fact, networking and meeting colleagues was one of the most frequently mentioned highlights of the day, along with the high quality of the speakers and topics, the engaging Q&A discussions, and the excellent venue.
We received outstanding feedback from attendees. Everyone enjoyed the Friday evening networking dessert welcome reception, as well as the expanded Q&A and panel discussion format—which allowed for deeper clinical conversations and practical takeaways. Participants appreciated how much timely and relevant content was delivered in such a well-organized and efficient schedule.
Following the educational sessions, attendees gathered for a delicious lunch and brief business meeting, then transitioned into breakout sessions tailored for residents, fellows, and attending physicians.
This year’s meeting set new records for OGS!
We received the highest number of abstract submissions in our history.
We welcomed one of our largest audiences yet—with well over 100 attendees.
The quality of presentations, the expertise of the speakers, and the overwhelmingly positive response to our interactive debate format were standout themes in the feedback.
Attendees repeatedly shared how much they enjoyed the experience and how valuable the educational content was.
During the breaks, participants visited our sold-out exhibit hall and viewed 24 scientific abstract posters presented by talented medical students and physicians in training. Awards were presented to the top three abstracts (scored in a blinded review) as well as a People’s Choice Award. Congratulations to all who participated and showcased their work.
